When used by a trained therapist It is usually induced by suggestion where the person is pleasantly and completely relaxed.

Unfortunately, hypnosis is a very misunderstood phenomenon which has been exploited by Hollywood among others for their own reasons.

There is no question of being controlled or manipulated, a person is able to think and hear everything, You are in total control of the situation. In fact, hypnosis is so "normal" that you are in the state of hypnosis several times a day without even knowing it.

For example, when you are just about to fall asleep or when you are giving your 100% concentration on something like watching a television programme and can't even hear someone enter the room because you are so absorbed.

Hypnosis does not cure anything by itself. It is used as a therapeutic tool to assist the subconscious mind to take on board suggestions that are for the client's benefit without the conscious mind causing interference.

It also helps your subconscious mind to recall events which may be otherwise hidden from it.

Hypnosis is used by many health care professionals such as doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists and dental surgeons throughout the world on a daily basis.

So you can see, there really is nothing to worry about. Hypnosis is perfectly safe. The only thing you will feel is that you are very, very pleasantly relaxed. You will never say or do anything in Hypnosis that you would not wish to.
